Aurora was well on her way to being the next Champion Master Hunter when she met her untimely death. Her page remains here as a tribute to her greatness.
And if I go, while you're still here ~
know that I still live on
vibrating to a different measure
behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to the fullest.
And when you need me,
just whisper my name in your heart,
~ I will be there.
—Colleen Hitchcock
Aurora’s dam “Aislin” was imported from Germany, and was the result of a planned breeding from a Chilbrook dam to a Dutch sire. This breeding brought in some good-looking working lines to help keep the bloodlines from being too inbred. Aurora’s sire is one of the all-time top winning Labradors in history and a current top producing sire in the US. From the combination of two lines, Aurora got the best of both worlds: flawless movement, good looks and an intense retrieve drive.
